One big thing
Three northern Utah institutions of higher education have launched a direct admission program for 10,000-plus high school seniors.
Why it matters
This initiative removes barriers to higher education, potentially increasing enrollment and workforce development in the region.
Go deeper
Weber State University, Davis Technical College, and Ogden-Weber Technical College have formed the Northern Wasatch Collegiate Coalition to revolutionize access to higher education:
- Direct Admission: Automatic acceptance for over 10,000 high school seniors in Davis, Morgan, and Weber counties.
- No application process or fees required.
- Jumpstart program: Students can take Weber State core classes at tech college tuition rates while pursuing certificates.
- Tech Transfer: Up to 21 elective credits towards a Weber State degree for completed technical college certificates.
The big picture
